OLPC Unveils First Prototype of XO 2.0
Just when it looked like OLPC was finally getting at least one foot firmly grounded in reality with the upcoming Windows XP version of its low-priced XO, Nick Neg takes things back into the stratosphere with the unveiling of the XO 2.0. Due in 2010, the new laptop will employ dual sunlight-readable touchscreen displays in a smaller, folding e-book form factor. Sure, it looks totally amazing, but we'll believe it when we see it. As if that weren't ambitious enough, Nick calls a $20 pricepoint per display not out of the question, thanks to the ubiquity of LCD screens for DVD players, with a final laptop price of $75. Sure Nick, but 2010? Let's work on getting the XO down to $100 first, shall we? Oh, and speaking of the XO, the Give 1 Get 1 program will be started back up in August or September of this year. There's just never a dull moment with these folks.
My thought is that the screen is the same as those in portable DVD players, which sell in mass quantities and should be pretty cheap. I believe they quote a $20 price tag. Give each screen a touchscreen overlay and you’re done. This can be done with off the shelf materials, it’s just a question of putting it all together at a low enough price point!

HUSAVIK, Iceland (May 16) - Sigurdur Hjartarson is missing a human penis. But he's not worried: Four men have promised to donate theirs to him when they die.As you might guess from the large wooden sculpture outside the Icelandic Phallological Museum is not your typical tourist trap. Located in the fishing village of Husavik, the museum features of a collection of 261 preserved penises from 90 animal species.Hjartarson is founder and owner of the Icelandic Phallological Museum, which offers visitors from around the world a close-up look at the long and the short of the male reproductive organ.His collection, which began in 1974 with a single bull's penis that looked something like a riding crop, now boasts 261 preserved members from 90 species. The largest, from a sperm whale, is 154 pounds and 5.58 ft long. The smallest, a hamster penis bone, is just 2 millimeters and must be viewed through a magnifying glass.
My response is that I think that Sigurdur Hjartarson is gay , because who would own a museum about dicks!
First Genetically Modified Human Embryo Raises Fear.
Scientists from Cornell University in New York have produced what is believed to be the first genetically modified (GM) human embryo. The British Times Online edition reports. It was destroyed after five days. The announcement of the experiment’s results have already sparked controversy in the scientific community, with some saying this is a way to a new eugenics.

Cops Say Boy, 8, Took Car For Ride, Caused Crash!
(AP) Authorities said an 8-year-old Pontiac boy took a stolen car on a joy ride and caused a three-vehicle crash. Pontiac police said the boy sneaked out of his house Wednesday night and found an empty and running car in his neighborhood.
The Oakland Press and Detroit Free Press reported the boy drove the car in reverse for about a block and hit the front-end of another vehicle. That vehicle was struck by a third car.
There were no injuries, but officers say he was crying when officers arrived.
